Formula 1 owner Bernie Ecclestone pulled up an extraordinarily lavish affair for his daughter Petra Ecclestone's engagement with businessman Jamie Stunt.

The venue was one of London's most famous landmarks, the old turbine hall at Battersea Power Station, which was transformed for the celebrations.

The decorations included a marquee lined with huge faux-roman classical columns, floor- to-ceiling gilded mirrors and vast chandeliers.

However, the highlight of the evening was the flamboyant display of super cars including classic Aston Martins, ultra-fast Ferraris and, as a surprise treat, an 800,000 pounds Bugatti Veyron.

To entertain the guests, Bernie flew in chart-topping singer Rihanna, by a helicopter from Paris to sing a medley of her No 1 hits. She was apparently paid 2,50,000 pounds for her performance.

The alcohol connoisseurs were treated with vintage Cristal champagne and Bentley's Entertainment prepared the sumptuous dinner.

"When the night drew to a close, a roaring of expensive car engines could be heard outside. There was much talk of how lavish the wedding reception would be. This will be a tough act to follow," the Daily Mail quoted a source as saying.
