15-year-old Brooke Shields sizzled in a Calvin Klein print ad in 1980 only to be replaced by Eva Mendes. Aishwarya Rai has been the face of L'Oreal for almost a decade before Sonam Kapoor stepped into the spotlight.
Since ages, celebrities have come to be identified with the luxury brands that they have endorsed. Think Shah Rukh Khan and Tag Heuer. George Clooney and Nicole Kidman for Omega. More recently, Emma Watson for Burberry and Scarlett Johansson for Mango. And now, here's news for more celebs jumping onto the brand bandwagon.
After endorsing Calvin Klein, Eva Mendes is now ready to be the new face of Thierry Mugler's Angel perfume. She replaces current muse Naomi Watts's ethereal beauty symbolizing Angel perfume with her sultry looks, representing a step forward from the angelic to a more dynamic aspect of the brand. Meanwhile, Katy Perry has been unveiled as the new face of Good Hair Day (GHD), UK-based hair-styling and appliance brand.
The "California Gurls" singer now has a multi-year contract with the brand and will appear in print and TV ad campaigns shot by photographer David LaChapelle. "GHD products have a reputation of being the best products in the biz, and I like being associated with that. I'm very excited to reveal the styles I did with legendary David LaChapelle in the upcoming ghd campaign. Keep your eyes peeled for it!", says an ecstatic Perry. Barbadian pop star Rihanna, on the other hand, has been roped in by Nivea to be their face as part of its 100th anniversary celebration.
She will pose nude for the brand, showing off her flawless skin. Accrding to a brand spokesperson, the reason Rihanna has been chosen is to attract younger fans of the singer to its list of users.Spidderman hottie, Kirsten Dunst would soon be the new face of Bvlgari's new perfume Mon Jasmin Noir whereas Harry Potter actress Emma Watson has been chosen as the global beauty ambassador for French beauty brand Lancome.
