The venue was one of London's most famous landmarks, the old turbine hall at Battersea Power Station, which was transformed for the celebrations.
The decorations included a marquee lined with huge faux-roman classical columns, floor- to-ceiling gilded mirrors and vast chandeliers.
However, the highlight of the evening was the flamboyant display of super cars including classic Aston Martins, ultra-fast Ferraris and, as a surprise treat, an 800,000 pounds Bugatti Veyron.
To entertain the guests, Bernie flew in chart-topping singer Rihanna, by a helicopter from Paris to sing a medley of her No 1 hits. She was apparently paid 2,50,000 pounds for her performance.
The alcohol connoisseurs were treated with vintage Cristal champagne and Bentley's Entertainment prepared the sumptuous dinner.
"When the night drew to a close, a roaring of expensive car engines could be heard outside. There was much talk of how lavish the wedding reception would be. This will be a tough act to follow," the Daily Mail quoted a source as saying.
