Bentley CEO bullish on Chinese market: "Wolfgang Dürheimer, chairman and CEO of Bentley, said in an interview on the sidelines of Geneva Motor Show that Bentley will hold its global dealer conference in China this May, and he is bullish on Chinese market.
Mr. Dürheimer believes that China’s luxury auto market is not saturated as many dealers think, and he is going to show this point to Bentley‘s global dealers by asking them to Beijing.
Currently, the U.S. is Bentley’s largest market, but China is believed to replace US as a new market leader.
Mr. Dürheimer also revealed that Bentley plans to launch Continental GT and Mulsane in China soon.
According to Mr. Dürheimer, Bentley’s positioning as top products in the market won’t change in China. It will decide the engine type for Chinese market based on the local regulations and customer needs. Hybrid vehicles will be one of the development orientations in future, and he is considering introducing hybrid technologies to high-performance luxury vehicles.
Bentley has 13 dealers in China, and 147 dealers worldwide. It sold 815 Bentley cars in China mainland last year."
