Trial links used luxury cars with Detroit drug lord's order to kill : "Waad Murad sold hundreds of used luxury cars at his Detroit lot at Woodward and 7 Mile.
Jaguars. BMWs. Escalades.
Life was good for the 39-year-old West Bloomfield businessman.
Then his cars started showing up in criminal investigations -- dope and cocaine deals, cash seizures, even a killing -- which put Murad's used-car lot on the feds' radar.
Among his customers, authorities say, was Adarus M. Black -- a notorious drug dealer so intent on fooling federal agents that he had plastic surgeries and had his fingerprints obliterated.
Authorities say Black ordered a hit on Murad. In March 2005, Murad was shot at his car lot.
Last week, one of the men charged in Murad's killing -- Herman N. Johnson, who prosecutors said got $2,000 for plotting Murad's death -- went on trial in U.S. District Court.
Murad's family and friends say it's Johnson's turn to pay. Murad, they believe, exposed himself to the wrong crowd and paid the ultimate price."
